It was an amazing speech. He certainly doesn't hold back. It's amazing that the Nobel Peace Prize winner was far less critical of the international order in his speech - the Literature speech is rarely this polemical.

The Nobel Commitee have timed their awards well in recent years. For example, the Peace Prize went to the UN in 2001 (just at the start of the War on Terrorism) and to Jimmy Carter in 2002 (who was scathing of the Bush Administration's march to war in Iraq, inspiring the all-time great headline in The Onion: "Carter Arrested for Peace Crimes").
