Connemarathon!

Well, i have decided that it might be about time that i returned to this much neglected blog. the e key has gone from my keyboard which makes this painful, so I'll try and keep it short till i get a replacement.

Anyhow, I have been running the last week or two in preparation for the connemara marathon. And its hard. Im actually kinda scared. Its only the half distance, but I somehow managed to let any excuse that presented itself keep me away from training for it, so I may do myself an injury. Ah well. Better news is that some old freinds from spain are visiting and it'll be an excuse to show them the most beautiful part of the country (I'm biased) and make my humiliation public in one fell swoop.

Not suprising in the least is another draconian measure from Tony Blair's reactionary administration, who are not content with having simply alienated Britain's youth and now seek to criminalise those who decide to leave school early. Don't know about you, but if I was fined £50 for every time I missed a say of school, I'd owe a considerable amount. Instead of encouraging children to stay in education or seek some kind of trade or professional training, Blair has chosen to once again to go down the line of heavy handed authoritarianism when it comes to young British people and their obvious discontent. As usual, the only effect for the most marginalised young people will be further criminalisation, further alienation, and a further mark of the utter disrespect afforded to them. What an utterly cynical vision of youth and society to present to your next generation.

Also, a very sensible perspective on societies hypocritical perspective on drugs.
